Street parking in downtown Meadville has some local business owners upset, saying they're losing customers because of the lack of parking.
Viki Allin is the co-owner of the Creative Crust Bakery on Chesnut Street.
She is concerned for the future of her business, telling us employees of downtown businesses are parking at meters that should normally be reserved for customers. She claims this has been a detriment to her business.
Allin says after some initial investigation into it, she discovered that on Fridays alone, their business was losing over $10,000 worth of income a year.
City Manager Joe Chriest says this is illegal here, and in most cities so is putting time in beyond the meter.
Chriest is trying to find a solution. She's noticed in some of the short term parking meters, there are employees of downtown businesses who go out and move their cars one space over and put additional time in the meter.
