A large turnout of gun supporters, armed with guns and signs in hands, marched from Perry Square in downtown Erie to the Erie Maritime Museum early Saturday afternoon.
The group of 2nd Amendment supporters marched today as part of a nationwide movement called a "Day of Resistance." The Day of Resistance is in response to the 23 executive actions regarding gun control issued by President Obama following the Newtown tragedy.
On the local level, the rally/march in Erie attracted people of all ages, but all of their reasons for coming to the rally were along the same lines.
"I am my family's secret service protection," Eric Hawes, a participant in the rally, said.
Marchers in the rally say they just want the ability to protect their families.
There are no set dates for future rallies, but rally organizer Justin Dillon says there will be many more in the future.
