  • Luke Simons

Luke Simons joined the Action News 24 sports team in 2004.  He began his stint in Erie as the weekend sports anchor and reporter, and in 2006 was promoted to Sports Director.

In his career, Luke has covered the 2006 World Series, two MLB All-Star games, numerous NFL, NBA, and NHL regular season games, as well as many games in the playoffs at all levels.  Although, the pro sports are enjoyable, it's the local sports stories about the everyday ahletes that Luke enjoys the most.

"Friday Night Lights" is the premiere high school sports show in the area, and every Friday night, Luke and the rest of the Action News 24 sports team put together the most highlights and scores while at the same time having the most fun.

Luke is a Texas native, but has quickly grown accustomed to the cold winters and beautiful summers that Northwest Pennsylvania has to offer.  Luke and his wife, Erika, reside in the Erie area and love skiing in the winter and walking or biking at Presque Isle during the summer.

Luke graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and a Speech Communication minor.

You can see Luke on Action News 24 Monday through Friday at 5, 6, and 11.
