Brian R. Sheridan, M.A., an Erie native, is a part-time journalist for Action News 24 and Fox 66.He works full-time as an instructor for the Communication Department at Mercyhurst College. Sheridan graduated from Mercyhurst and has a Master’s degree in Communication from Edinboro University. He previously worked as a producer, reporter, and anchor. Sheridan has covered every type of news story and interviewed a variety of people from singer Tony Bennett, to Sen. Hillary Clinton, and the Dalai Lama. His history segments, “Erie Flashback”, won him an Erie County Historical Society’s Media Award. Sheridan was the only journalist to witness the mysterious death of pizza delivery man Brian Wells on August 28, 2003. Documentary producers have since interviewed him for news programs about the so-called “Pizza Bomber” case, that have aired on Fox News Channel, The Learning Channel, the BBC in England, and Fuji-TV in Japan. He is currently co-authoring a history book on Erie’s Warner Theater, scheduled for publication in 2007. Sheridan lives in Erie with his wife, Katherine and their son Bennett. In his spare time, he bowls, enjoys jazz, books and movies, and studies the martial arts. He holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do from the World Tae Kwon Do Federation, a green belt in the Korean sword-form Haidong Gumdo, and currently trains in the Chinese martial art of Tai Chi Chuan.
