Wednesday, Nov 5, 2008 @05:42pm EST Former Judge Michael Joyce's attorneys continued their push today to show their client was injured in a 2001 Millcreek auto accident.
Joyce is on trial in Pittsburgh on charges he defrauded two insurance companies of $440,000 by lying about injuries from that crash. Staffers at Pittsburgh’s federal court say Dr. Joseph Thomas, an Erie pain specialist, testified today that Joyce was, in fact, hurt in the accident. One of Joyce’s former law secretaries also took the stand to say her boss was injured. The jury also heard testimony from a dental office worker who says Joyce sought treatment for neck and jaw pain. The defense says they will continue to call witnesses into next week. |
