Reported by: David Belmondo Friday, Nov 7, 2008 @12:44pm EST A wood stove is probably to blame for a fire this morning that destroyed a Cranesville home.
Several West County volunteer fire companies were called to 10359 High Street just after 8 Friday morning. The owner of the house, Jacqueline Miller says she lit the wood burning stove and several minutes later the house began to fill with smoke. By the time the first fire company arrived, flames had burned through the roof . Miller was able to get her three children out of bed and everyone made it out safely. The family had no insurance and a fund has been set up at the CNB Bank in Cranesville for those who would like to help. |
