Reported by: Sky Yaple Tuesday, Mar 24, 2009 @03:23pm EDT One deserving and happy family has a new place to call home today.
Habitat for Humanity dedicated Pennsylvania’s first fortified home to the Lindenberger family. The 3 bedroom ranch is designed with specific features to withstand every type of severe weather Erie faces. Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott was on hand for the dedication and calls Habitat's charity an important fixture in the community. The house was built in cooperation with Erie Insurance and the Institute for Business & Home Safety. Those close to the cause say today's dedication shows why every family from every walk of life deserves a special home. Julie Rochman of the Institute for Business & Home Safety says, "This family, and I've just met them, is particularly excited because it's a beautiful home, has a great big kitchen, the son's going to have his own bedroom, a lot more space but more than that, I think, from our perspective is it's a safe home. We're giving them a really safe environment that's going to be here for a long time to come.” Three Habitat for Humanity homes, including this one, have been built in partnership with Erie Insurance since 2004. |
