Amelia joined the JET-TV and Fox 66 weather team in March 2008 as the weekend meteorologist. She is not only at the station each weekend, but whenever severe weather is affecting the region.
Although she grew up in Maryland, Amelia is excited to join her extended family in Erie. This includes four uncles, their families, her brother and grandmother. Her father is a graduate of McDowell High School and attended Behrend College. Coming from a family of Penn Staters, Amelia graduated with a meteorology degree in 2007. While she was at Penn State, Amelia was an active member in the Penn State Branch of the American Meteorological Society (PSUBAMS) as well as the Campus Weather Service (CWS). Prior to joining JET-TV and Fox 66 she interned at WUSA in Washington, DC and was a meteorologist for C-NET, a local public access station in State College, PA for two years. Amelia remains an active member in the American Meteorological Society and looks forward to earning her AMS seal of approval. In her free time Amelia likes to golf, snowboard, hang out with friends, and go to the beach. She would like to thank her family for their unwavering support in her career endeavors. Amelia is very excited to be part of the JET-TV and Fox 66 weather team and have the opportunity to forecast the unique weather in Erie! |
