  • DiNicola, Joanne M. DiRenzo  
     Joanne M. DiRienzo DiNicola, age 72, of Oakwood Street, died unexpectedly, Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Saint Vincent Health Center.

    A lifelong resident of Erie, she was born April 26, 1937 a daughter of the late Thomas and Angeline DiRienzo. She was an avid ceramic hobbyist and taught ceramics for many years.

    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph J. “Ed” DiNicola. She is survived by two sons, James E. “Jamie” DiNicola and his wife Cory and David J. DiNicola and his wife Erin; three brothers, Thomas DiRienzo and Richard DiRienzo of Erie and David Vacco of Cleveland, OH and one sister, Kathy DeLuca of Erie.

    She is also survived by 2 grandsons, Jed and Seth DiNicola and nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call at the John R. Orlando Funeral Home, Inc., 2122 Raspberry Street, on Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm and may attend a service there on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Paul RC Church, 1617 Walnut Street, at 10:00 am. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
