Joyce E. DeWitt, age 55, of Erie, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 29, 1954 in Indiana, Pa. the daughter of the late Lester and Violet DeArmond Butler.

Joyce was a “people person”. She enjoyed reading and being a wife, mother and grandmother. She truly loved her family.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 21 years, Chris DeWitt; three daughters, Tracy Butler, Jill Coletta and Hannah DeWitt, all of Erie; nine grandchildren; four sisters, Bonnie (Greg), Sandy (Gerald), Kate (Rod) and Sherri; three brothers, Skip (Tina), David and Jeff (Kathy); her mother-in-law, Vivian DeWitt of Wesleyville; a special sister-in-law, Linda Smith of Girard; many nieces and nephews.
