  • Atkinson, Beatrice "Bea"  
     Beatrice “Bea” Atkinson, age 98, of Wesleyville, died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Erie on December 1, 1910, daughter of the late Tobias and Mary Ann McVicker Healy. She was a lifelong Erie resident.

    Bea was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and active in the Rebecca Circle, United Methodist Women, Wesley Players and the Keenagers for many years. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Travel Club. Bea graduated from Erie Business College in 1932.

    The widow of William J. Atkinson, she is survived by one daughter, Mary Atkinson-Ahl of Williamsville, NY; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, David Atkinson; and her brother Richard Healy; and her sister, Adrian Healy.

    Friends may call a the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Wesley United Methodist Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. G.H. Trumbo, Pastor. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church, 3308 South St., Erie, PA 16510.
