Mary Josephine Whipple Truax, age 87, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Absolut Care in Westfield, NY. She was born in Erie on December 11, 1921, daughter of Clifford and Martha Donovan Steen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leon Whipple; her daughter, Betty Lou; her second husband, Lester Truax; sisters, Margaret Ardillo, Martha Chauncey and Esther Miller; and a brother, Dallas Steen. Those left to cherish her memory are daughters, Teresa Buchholz (Ron), Mary Ann Leonard (Duane), Carol Miller and Linda Platz (Jim); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Torelli; and brother, Clifford Steen (Carmella).

No calling hours will be observed. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
