Reported by: Luke Simons Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @10:56pm EST With election night just one evening away, the East High football team was hoping to get a playoff vote from the district ten committee.
Leonard Ford's Warriors pulled out a 26-13 win over Corry on Friday night earning the team its first winning record since 1981. East is 5-4 overall, but it sits behind Prep, Strong Vincent and Bradford in the region six standings. The Warriors fared much better against region five, beating Corry and taking Grove City into overtime in a three-point loss. According to the district ten website, East will not be one of the four teams in the playoff picture. It's a tough pill to swallow, but there is a lot for the Warriors to be happy about. "I don't think that anybody really gave us a chance," East head coach Leonard Ford said. "East high today has brought back the pride to East high school and the lower East side." |
