Reported by: Kim Thomas Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @11:45am EST Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott provided a ride to the polls as he has every election day since he first ran for the seat. Today, the trolley made several stops at apartment buildings throughout the city.
The mayor picks up the voters, takes them to the polls, then gets them back home.
It's a way to insure that everyone who wants to get out and vote has the opportunity. "We saw a ground swell of voters in the last presidential election, we are hoping that will keep people involved and engaged in the process, so it's important that people stay with it," said Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott. Other voters can call Erie County's Republican and Democrat Headquarters for rides to the polls. |
