Erie Police continue to investigate an east side shooting that they now say may have been self-inflicted.

It happened in the 500 block of East 23rd Street around four yesterday afternoon.

Last night, police told us that detectives believe the victim, a 14 year old girl, may have accidentally shot herself in the hand.

Despite, that, police say nothing is concrete at this time and they’re still examining all possibilities.

The girl was taken to Hamot Medical Center; no word on her condition.
