Pro-life advocates gathered in downtown Erie today to protest a health care bill being debated in Congress.

The bill - called House Bill 3962 - would include insurance coverage for abortions.

The People for Life believe that is a dangerous thing to include in the bill, and could be the start of expanding abortion rights nationwide.

Tim Broderick of People for Life says, “The bill sets up a nationwide organization called the public option. It explicitly authorized to pay for elective abortions. We think anyone who is concerned should call Kathy Dahlkemper immediately."

Congress is scheduled to vote on House Bill 3965 next week.
