Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 @05:41pm EST Erie winters can be hard, and a lot of people rely on the states LIHEAP program to make it easier to stay warm.
But despite having the same funding as they did last year the program will help fewer people. The state program changed the qualifications for families to apply, last year a family of four who made forty four thousand dollars a year could get some government help, this year that family would have to make thirty three thousand, eleven thousand less a year than last year, that means less families will be eligible The question is why the change, LIHEAP is getting the same funding as they did last year, but will spend less helping families. |
