Reported by: D. Belmondo Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @12:06pm EST It was a mountain of garbage that greeted workers this morning at The Upper Room in Erie.
Dozens of bags of garbage were piled up against the rear door to The Upper Room, an agency that serves the area homeless. The director of the agency, Tom Schlaudecker, said they had used the dumpster that was next door to a building undergoing renovations, thinking they had permission to do so. He says he's watched several people pull up to the dumpster and throw bags in, but now the garbage ended up at his back door. Schlaudecker says it will cost a few hundred dollars to have the garbage removed. Money he said could be used to help the homeless. |
