Divers and volunteers responded to Townhall Road in Cochranton to rescue a dog reportedly chained to a tree floating in French Creek .About 1 pm a passing motorist called 911 to report a dog stranded on a log underneth the Shaw's Landing bridge aver French Creek. Cochranton VFD and the Crawford County Scuba Team responded. The Scuba team put boat in the water, and had to approach from down stream. The dog was eager to get in the boat. They brought him to shore were the dog took immediate flight to parts unknown. The Crawford County Humane Society and The Dog Warden spent some time looking for him but no luck. No one seems to know how long the dog was on the log nor how he got there.
