Tuesday, Aug 18, 2009 @09:37pm EDT A Warren, PA teenager was gifted a "souped up" ride at a party Hilton Garden Inn Patio in Summit Township.
Kurtis Walter, 17 years old, had been wishing for a transformation to turn the Ford Fusion his parents bought into some hot wheels. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater PA and Southern West Virginia, Enormis Mobile Specialties, Plasmaglow, Rockford Fosgate, AstroStart and HushMat all teamed up to upgrade Walter's ride. The region's Make-A-Wish organization grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. The Foundation has fulfilled 706 wishes with the help of more than 900 volunteers in 2008. While the Foundation helps children with life-threatening illnesses, nearly 80 percent of the children are still alive. Walter was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, has undergone treatment, and is in remission. |
