Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @04:59pm EST Candidates for Millcreek’s School Board want you to know about a hitch on the ballot.
There are five candidates running for four spots. But one of them -- incumbent Jane Rastatter -- is too ill to take office. The County Election Office tells us she tried to have her name pulled from the ballot but missed the deadline. Other candidates are afraid Rastatter could win on a party line vote... even though she can't take office. Millcreek School Board Candidate Mike Kobylka says, “So I would ask you not to vote straight party, take a look at the ballot. There’s five candidates but four of us are here and ready to serve on the board.” If Rastatter were to win -- the Millcreek School Board would appoint someone to fill her term. There’s no requirement they appoint someone who ran in this election. |
