One of the best memories young boys can have is of getting dirty and exploring outside, especially with a mom and dad.

In this month's Hearts Without Homes, one special guy got a unique opportunity to enjoy the wildlife and even meet some special animals.

Just about every month one of these awesome kids gives me a chance to try out something new, and today it was all about getting out into the wild and even getting your hands dirty.

Meet Tyler: a curious and intelligent 12 year old young man who loves anything involving the outdoors.

Since Tyler has such an interest in wildlife and reptiles we spent the day at the Asbury Woods Nature Center learning all about the animals inside.

From turtles, to salamanders, to ferrets and even to a very friendly rabbit.

We then went outside, net and bucket in hand, and headed to the swamp to see what we could fish out.

While there weren't any fish, we found frogs, snakes, and a great time outside and enjoying nature.

He even wants to be an archeologist.

However, all of that would be so much better with a mom and dad.

Tyler wants to be adopted more than anything, and what would bring a smile to his face is simple.
