Bear Lakes Community Concerned Over Proposed Injection Wells

Bear Lakes Community in Warren County is concerned tonight... After a local company proposes the use of injection wells in their area...

This project by Bear Lakes Properties has been in the works for over a year... And that's about the amount of time members of the community have been rejecting it.

    The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency gave notice of a proposal to issue final permits to begin installing injection wells used for the disposal of brine associated with oil and gas production activities.

    Karl Kimmich of Bear Lakes Properties is looking to clarify and answer questions about their saltwater disposal project.

    Kimmich says that one of the biggest misconceptions is once this water goes into the ground, it travels for miles...

    State Representative Kathy Rapp knows her community is still hesitant but is hear listening to what bear lakes properties has to say.

Kimmich tells us he wants people to know that this is a safe process and is used united states...Bear Lakes is waiting for their final permit and if all goes according to plan, they will begin their project on November 3rd.
