Penelec crews are busy working to restore power to customers after the storm.

While the strong winds and rain did hit the area, there were no major power outages.

At last check, around one thousand customers in Erie County remain without power. Most of those are in the areas outside of the city of Erie.

In Crawford County only a dozen people are reported without service.

Over in Ohio the story is a little different. More than eight-thousand people are without power in Ashtabula County.

Locally, Penelec officials say being prepared really helped in the case of this storm.

At this time local Penelec crews are staying in this area to make sure everyone is back online. They say they will not send crews to areas hit harder until this area is back up and running.
