Accident Knocks Down 4 Power Poles

It was a mess along East 38th Street this afternoon after a semi truck snagged a low lying wire, bringing down 4 telephone poles.
Police were forced to shut down a section of East 38th street after the driver of the food truck caught the wire that he said was hanging about 3 feet off the road. That snapped the pole along East 38th street and the wires then pulled three other poles to the ground along McCain Avenue.
Phone and cable service was disrupted and some homes and businesses close to the accident lost electric power
