December 31, 2012 - The last day of 2012 was the last day for the Erie Police Department's SWAT commander.

Lieutenant Les Fetterman is retiring from the Erie Police Department after serving the last 24 years.

The SWAT Team was founded in 1993 and Fetterman was part of the original SWAT Team.

He says turning in his badge was a bitter sweet feeling.

"I feel like I owe the Erie Police Department something for the last 24 years and hopefully I gave them back what I got in return," said Fetterman. "A lot of friendships, a lot of great memories. I just hope I served well here."

Fetterman will work at GannonUniversity as the assistant police director.
