The Erie International Airport is reaching "new heights" thanks to a new, state of the art bucket truck that will soon be put into service.

The new Ford Super Duty bucket truck is loaded with green technology.
It features a 6 point 7 liter diesel engine and the 52 foot boom runs off a 48 volt system to power the hydraulic pump without the truck's engine running.

The one man bucket rotates 110 degrees and will have many uses at the airport.

Once it's put into service later this week,  the airport electrician will have a vehicle to go out and maintain all the electrical components, the lighting for the airport and the airfield.

A 1000 pound lift is also included on the vehicle.
The boom truck replaces an old City of Erie truck that was equipped with a 1967 boom
