JANUARY 9, 2013-  In light of the Sandy HookElementary School tragedy, the gun debate rages on... Right here in ErieCounty...

Officials from CeaseFire PA, a group that takes a stand against gun violence spoke at the Jefferson Educational Society tonight...

It was standing room only as more than fifty members of the community came to the CeaseFire PA meeting...

What started out as an informational meeting for the group that works to unite communities and demands action for elected officials to crack down on criminals trafficking guns illegally...

Quickly turned into a gun debate...

Initially the group hit on key points including reporting lost or stolen hand gun... and encouraging those to call on legislators to fix what they say is the broken background check system, close the concealed carry loophole.

....And repealing the first shoot law that almost freed Trayvon Martin's alleged killer...

During the open forum people began arguing guns need to be banned altogether while others saying guns are needed but we need stricter regulations.

CeaseFire PA officials tell us it is normal for this to happen during these meetings...

They tell us this is the beginning of a much needed dialogue....

Comments

We do NOT need to ban ALL guns, guns are needed but we need stricter regulations, where EVERY gun that is bought, the person buying it, goes thru a STRICT check, not just some guns, ALL guns!!
