GE Transportation's 18th annual Bids for Kids event raised thousands of dollars for local charities.

The Shriners Hospital for Children, Make a Wish Foundation and Boys and Girls Club will equally share the proceeds.

The Bayfront Convention Center was packed Saturday night, with the event bringing in sixty thousand dollars from auctioned items.

Officials say that's not the final number yet but expect to be on track to raise the bar from last year, after all sponsorships are accounted for along with employee matches.

Last year's event raised more than 120 thousand dollars.
