The preliminary hearing for a man accused of killing Teverous Williams gets heated this morning, and two men will be heading to trial.
Twenty-nine-year-old Michael James is accused of shooting and killing 25-year-old Teverous Williams a little after 2 am on July 13th near East 19th and Ash Streets, just a day after his birthday.
Twenty-six-year-old Cedis Martin was also in court. He's charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping to that shooting.
We're told that Martin along with Michael James allegedly held witness Christopher Barnes, who was recently arrested for his involvement in the group Stick Up Kidz, against his will at an Erie hotel, right after Williams was killed.
Barnes, in his testimony claimed that James had given his gun to Martin after the shooting, which set Martin off.
Martin began yelling at Barnes and was removed from the courtroom by several sheriff's deputies.
The charges for both men will be bound over to trial.
