Taking a trip to the zoo with your parents is a favorite past time for many children, but for those in foster-care it's an experience they don't get to enjoy very often.

In this month's Hearts Without Homes you'll meet  one special young lady who wants nothing more than a mom and dad to help guide her through her teenage years.

This month's terrific girl took me for my very first trip to the Erie Zoo.

While she's been there several times before, today we both had the chance to go behind the scenes and see some really neat things.

Mary is an extremely motivated and wonderful 16 year old young lady who loves the outdoors and loves animals.

What would mean the most is having a mom and dad to see her graduate high school.

"I think that would mean everything because I'd have somebody to look out in the crowd when I'm on stage and be proud of me. I think that's one thing I really want is to be able to look out and say there's my mom and there's my dad. "

She wants to try kayaking and snorkeling in the Gulf of Mexico with a family on vacation.

Mary is very intelligent and has big dreams for her future that aren't surprising.

"A drama therapist definitely, which is pretty much a type of group therapy and just put on plays about what they've been through."

She loves all types of music, her favorite TV show is the Vampire Diaries, and she'd try just about any food.

She loves to knit and paint but wants a family to share it with.

Mary is waiting for her forever family.

Could you be the one to give her heart a loving home?
