Record Sales Expected For Pet Costumes This Halloween

10-11-12 Pet owners are spending more this year on Pet costumes than ever before. According to the National Retail Federation, spending on Halloween costumes for pets is expected to hit a record 370 million dollars. That's up 20% from 2011.

At Pet Smart on Peach Street in Erie, there are several isles and displays filled with costumes for pets. Superheros top the list. There is even a Martha Stewart collection made up mostly of spandex outfits.

People we spoke to say their pets are part of the family and if they dress up the kids for trick or treat, why not the pets?
