October 13, 2012-- People from across the United States are heading to Erie County to fish.

It happened at Walnut Creek in Fairview.

Fishermen from as far away as Tennessee braved the chilly waters of walnut creek in hopes of catching the treasured steel head trout.

Fishermen tell us this fish is best here in Erie.

They say it's challenging to catch, but in the end it's worth it. And it's delicious.

There's only one rule behind the steel head trout run you are only allowed to catch three steel head tat rule was created to preserve the fish.

The steel head trout season runs from October through the winter.

Fishermen urge those who want to get in on the action to come early because walnut creek fills up quickly.
