Tonight, we begin our final candidate profile series. It's on the race for Pennsylvania's Fifth Congressional District.

This district includes many western Pennsylvania counties, and soon, as the result of redistricting, part of Erie County.

This race pits Democrat Charles Dumas against the focus of tonight's profile, incumbent Republican Congressman, Glenn Thompson.

Glenn Thompson is currently serving his second term in Congress. Prior to being elected U.S. Representative, he spent nearly 30 years working in non-profit community health care.

If re-elected Thompson says his priority is jobs.

Thompson believes it's up to the people, not government to create those jobs. But with issues surrounding health care, taxes and regulations, he says people are afraid to take those risks.
