By: Pat Hritz
Updated: October 24, 2012

Oct. 24, 2012 - The Erie Neighborhood Watch Council held its 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Saint Martins Center on Erie's east side Wednesday.

The group started as a small number of Crime Watch groups in 1992.

That number has grown to 69 Neighborhood Watch groups that work together through the Neighborhood Watch Council.

Erie County government has provided funding for the past 13 years as the group has fostered partnerships within government, education and law enforcement.
