October 29, 2012-- Will Ebert Beeman remain a member of Erie county council despite his current sentence in federal prison on social security fraud charges?

A status conference today with the prosecution and defense to decide the next step in the court case to determine if Beeman committed an infamous crime and should be removed from office.

Erie County District Attorney Jack Daneri has filed a motion for judgment on the pleadings with the current evidence available.

Beeman's defense attorney Jeffrey Del Fuoco still must respond to that.

Then Erie Jounty Judge Ernest DiSantis will schedule a hearing at which the attorneys will argue.

But if the judge decides it should be a hearing where witnesses will be required Del Fuoco said DiSantis agreed with him today that Beeman must be present.

Del Fuoco has until November 15th to respond to Daneri's motion.

OK, are you SERIOUSLY thinking of letting him remain a Council Member after BEING in Prison??? You have GOT to be kidding!! That means, no matter who...if you serve time, CAN be in ANY elected official position? He's A CONVICTED FELON , for gosh sakes...How much common sense does that take to figure out here? CONVICTED FELON vs. NON convicted persons??? If whomever is having a problem figuring THIS one out...Let, "WE THE PEOPLE" vote on it, We'll have NO problem figuring out whom WE want to pay in Office!!!
