Another issue we could be facing due to Hurricane Sandy is power outages.

As you prepare for the weather this week remember that your electricity could be affected.

On Penelecs website, Erie County is in the blue zone which means only 1 to 50 customers are without power.

But with high winds and more of the hurricane's remnants traveling north we could be experiencing more severe effects.

First Energy Corporation, which owns Penelec, says their entire company has mobilized employees and external resources including 1,400 line workers and 1,200 forestry crews to help aid in the restoration process should Hurricane Sandy impact customers' electric service.

Erie County Executive Barry Grossman has signed an official disaster declaration as a precaution and says if people are without power do not call 911.

Call your energy provider.
