One problem Hurricane Sandy could cause in our area is lakeshore flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning.

Strong winds and gusts up to 60 mph can produce these large waves that could cause flooding and erosion along the lakeshore.

Due to the damage potential, the National Weather Service has issued a lake shore flood warning for all 47 miles of Lake Erie. This remains in effect through Tuesday afternoon.

The strong north east winds could affect the bay as well.

Officials say residents and businesses along the lakeshore should just be prepared for the worst.
