Race for State Rep in the 3rd District Heats Up

    NOVEMBER 4, 2012- Election Day is right around the corner.

    The race for State Representative in the Third District is heating up.

    Republican Jason Owen and Democrat Ryan Bizzarro are making sure every door knock, flyer and phone call count.

    Both Bizzarro and Owen urging voters to hit the polls come Tuesday.

"We're getting out the vote and reminding people vote is Tuesday November 6th on Election Day and we need to send a strong leader to Harrisburg," says Jason Owen, candidate for state rep 3rd district.

"Successful get out the vote effort... tremendous volunteers... they're hungry to get out the vote and get me elected," says Ryan Bizzarro Democrat candidate for State rep 3rd district.

    If Bizzarro gets elected, he wants to make education a top priority.

    He says the recent cuts need to end.

"Sixteen million in cuts in Erie County is unacceptable. One billion dollars state wide can't happen. We need to make proper investments and invest because students are the future of state," says Bizzarro.

    And Owen says public education needs to be protected.... as the youth are the future...

"Public education funding needs to be protected and by investing in the future and investing in our youth. We're able to make sure folks have the qualifications necessary," says Owen.

    Both candidates are focused on job creation and bringing industry back to the area....

    Bizzarro and Owen say education and industry go hand in hand.

"By making more competition and making sure we have a strong educated workforce. We'll be able to attract more business here and have more family sustaining jobs in the commonwealth," says Owen.

"We can't talk about job creation with out talking education. We need to have an education. We need to have an educated and skilled workforce to meet operating needs of companies coming into our state and Erie County," says Bizzarro
