NOVEMBER 11, 2012-Millions of men and women have put their lives on the line to defend our freedom.

And today, local businesses and organizations honored them on this Veterans Day.

Local businesses across the area showed their gratitude and gave back as well.

The day began with a salute at VFW 470 on West 26th Street honoring those of the past, present and future that put it all on the line.

Emotions ran high especially for those who lost loved ones during time of war.

Family, friends and veterans shared memories and reflected on the progress that has been made in our country.

And Scott Enterprises even offered a free meal to vets at Applebee's, Famous Dave's and even free admission into Splash Lagoon for their service.
