Erie's Perry Square was turned into a giant Christmas party tonight.
Santa Claus and Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott were on hand as the switch was thrown and this year's downtown d'lights officially began...

Thousands of lights are now decorating perry square for the holiday season...
 
Hundreds of people were on hand for tonight's event which included free horse drawn carriage rides and a chance for kids to get their picture taken with jolly old Saint Nick...
