Child Killed After Father's Gun Discharged

A 7 year old boy was killed after a shooting in the parking lot of Twig's Re-loading Den in the 83 hundred block of Sharon Mercer Rd. Lackawannock Township.

Craig Loughrey of Fredonia Pa was pronounced dead at the scene.

State police report that Loughrey was getting into the family vehicle with his father, Joseph, when the gun his father had in the vehicle discharged, striking the child.

State police report the shooting appears to be accidental at this time but an investigation is ongoing.
