Just before 11PM New Year's Eve, a fire at 350 East 25th sent one man to UPMC Hamot with burns. The man was waiting for fireman outside the burning residence.
Firemen immediately attacked the flames, while others attended the man's burns.
It took firemen less than an hour to completely extinguish the blaze.
Firemen rescued a dog and a cat from the home. A second dog escaped on his own. Two cats were reported to have died in the fire.
