Downing Avenue Fire

A vacant house at  2709 Downing Avenue had flames showing from the front of the building when firefighters arrived there just before 1 A.M.

 

The first rigs began spraying the flames with water as crews scaled the roof and cut a vent hole.

 

Quick work at that scene kept the fire from spreading. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation
