January 2, 2013 - The death of a 20-year-old woman is still a mystery and her mother is searching for answers.

Back in September, Lexie Castile, 20, was found dead with a gunshot wound to her head.

It's an open investigation, but her mother says she would have never killed herself.

Laurie Holler lost her only daughter who she says was a wonderful woman who cared deeply for her family, especially her son.

"Her life was her son," Holler said. "She had a 3-year-old son and that was her life, very happy, outgoing, had friends, was always on the go and enjoyed life."

Holler tells us Lexie's lifestyle changed when she started dating her boyfriend.

"Her friends were pushed away, she wasn't allowed to do anything with her friends or family, big change in her behavior, quit talking to a lot of people, didn't do the same things," Holler said. "It was just him, her son and his family"

Holler says Lexie moved in with her boyfriend in August to the garage under his mother's house.

She was found dead in that garage in the 1100 block of West 24th Street on September 16th.

Holler says she lived there with her boyfriend and her son.

Police say both were home when she was found dead.

Holler tells us she believes her daughter was involved in an abusive relationship.

"Things that I found were domestic violence shelters, she was looking at domestic violence shelters on her computer at the end of July," Holler said.

Although the investigation is still ongoing, Holler says she's learned something from her daughter's death.

"One thing I stress to everybody, whether it's verbal or emotional abuse, there is always someone out there that's willing to help," she said. "Just leave no matter if it's financial or what. There's always a way out. There's always help out there."
