A mother who lost her child to gun violence has created a program to lead at risk teens on the right track.

Sonya Arrington of Mothers Against Teen Violence created LEAD

.

Lead stands for: leadership, empowerment, accountably and diversity.

The program which began today provides community service opportunities, GED prep and job training.

Arrington's hope is to reduce risk factors that lead to violence, drug abuse and dropping out of school.

Lead will be held at the Booker T. Washington Center daily.

It will also be used as a diversion program for kids on truancy.
