It has been a good run for us, our last shortage was over a year ago, but heavy weekend blood usage, the holiday, the flu, and now the snow are definitely all having an impact on the blood supply.

CRITICAL BLOOD SHORTAGE
O NEG (EMERGENCY BLOOD TYPE) EXTREMELY LOW
SUPPLIES DROPPED SUDDENLY, WEATHER NOW A FACTOR.

Based on what the hospitals are asking for and for the projected numbers of donors at upcoming drives, the blood supply will continue to fall for the rest of the week. Donors are urgently needed to come and give blood as soon as they can to help save lives.

The Community Blood Bank is located at 26th and Peach and is open Monday to
Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 9am to 12:30pm. No appointment is needed to save a life.
