February 20, 2013 - A new study shows community disorganization among Erie County youth is still a problem.

More than 3,500 hundred students across Erie County participated in the survey.

It shows community disorganization leads to substance abuse, delinquency, violence, depression and anxiety.

Trends for drugs and alcohol are trending down among 6th through 12th graders.

According to the report, the most commonly used substance by students in the past 30 days were alcohol, marijuana and cigarettes.

So sad, but VERY true!! They don't have anything to do, or sometimes no one who cares for them! Most are left alone, and I know they don't need a baby sitter, but they DO someone to look up to!
