A four year, full tuition scholarship is on the table today for high school students in our region.

It's the Rotary Club's 100th anniversary, and students from twelve Erie county high schools are taking part in a symposium.

Today is the 3rd Annual Rotary Club of Erie Ethics Symposium, and it's being held on the Mercyhurst campus.

The symposium focuses on ethics and applying what students learn to real life situations.

The high school juniors will have a full day of activities and workshops with scholars, rotarians, and their peers.

As a bonus, all of the juniors who attend will be eligible to apply for a scholarship.

Last year, a scholarship was offered, but this year it has been upgraded to a four year, full tuition scholarship to MercyhurstUniversity.

Mercyhurst and the Rotary Club of Erie have joined together to make the scholarship possible.

One student who attended the symposium will be named the winner.

After students have gone through the day, they'll have an opportunity to write an essay, which will be their entry for the scholarship.

They'll need to include what they learned during the Ethics Symposium and how they'll apply it to the real world.

The essays will be written at a later date, but it's getting competitive.

Students we spoke with were taking notes and say they are looking forward to writing the essay.
