Hearing loss, and the rate at which it occurs, varies from person to person, but on average, you can expect to experience a 10 decibel loss over the course of 5 years.  How much does that affect you?  It's the difference between being able to hear women and children speak or not, the birds chirping, or your turn signal clicking.
